Today, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) provided an update on their operations and the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Here are the highlights:
- Adjustment of Status Applications: USCIS will begin scheduling appointments for certain adjustment of status applications that have been pending, but are unable to be completed due to the closure of USCIS offices.
- Reopening of Offices: USCIS will slowly begin reopening its offices on a limited basis beginning June 4, 2020.
- Expedited Processing: USCIS is expanding its expedited processing of certain applications and petitions to help reduce delays.
- Teleconferencing: USCIS is leveraging teleconferencing technology to conduct certain interviews, such as naturalization interviews and InfoPass appointments.
- Fee Waivers: USCIS is offering fee waivers for certain applications and petitions and is extending some deadlines.
